emerge from light, which is the main topic of the artist’s photographs. The
reflection on a metaphorical level can lead us to connect it to the
"mirror of self", to the awareness of what our figure refers to the
environment in terms of light, energy aura, perceptual and emotional sensations
that are all projected in the interactive field. We are often unaware of this,
but what surrounds us is strongly influenced by our work as human beings.
Instead, we are more accustomed, as a legacy of cultural tradition, to thinking
in the opposite direction, so, it is our environment that influences us.
On this imprint
of thought, in the eighties, photography completed its process of interaction
in avant-garde art, which began in the sixties and continued with great
determination in the following decade. The applications have been innumerable
and multiform. In the wake of this orientation, which has led art to a
progressive, continuous and growing openness towards photography, the artist
moves with expert skill and stands out for the consolidated mastery acquired in
the modern contemporary experimentation of art photography.
The elements,
objects and subjects she captured and immortalised through the lens are part of
a panorama of images of surprising and choreographic perspective and spectacular
visions belonging to real or fantastic landscapes of
"imaginative-mental" matrix that generate intriguing and evocative
games of dynamic spatiality. At the same time, the photographs highlight the
contribution made by the evanescent and reflective effects of light and the
light range of the shades and chiaroscuro declinations. The works evoke
reflections produced by nature, water, images refracting from the lens and
reworked with absolute originality. They are representations that, through the
play and the combinations of brilliant and glittering luminescent effects,
offer the viewer different interpretative opportunities, points of view and ways
of perceiving the context evoked, united in a deep fusion of synergistic bond
by a single fundamental instrument of dialogue: photography and its free
creative interpretation.
Ancient visionary dimensions,
, imaginative and dreamlike worlds, alternative dimensions populated by
landscapes and surreal atmospheres emerge, all wrapped in a magical dimension that,
through a harmonious compositional cadence, allows the eye of the observer to
approach an innovative and engaging way of perceiving the "reflexus"
through the powerful and vibrant dynamism of the "reflection", an
effective expressive tool that Jacqueline Domin manages to combine perfectly
with acute originality and innate artistic sensitivity. For her there is not a
single and unique way to delineate the surrounding world, because she observes
and scrutinizes the environment with a strongly introspective attitude, but at
the same time witty and disenchanted, impressing intense subliminal metaphors
within her "special worlds" captured by the lens. She expresses her
own emotional sensations, translated by photography and enriching them with
important meanings and underlying messages of great topicality and modernity of
thought, to trigger a stimulating, varied and heterogeneous communication.
